The Diploma of Community Services is an exciting new course for Shepparton ACE College. This course was developed as a response to local employment opportunities in the sector and our current students' high level of interest in working with people.
The Diploma of Community Services provides a smooth transition for our current students into tertiary studies in an educational setting where they already feel comfortable and cared about as individuals.
New students can feel confident learning in a small class with a welcoming environment and highly skilled teachers who have decades of experience in the community services sector.
Students will develop specialized skills and knowledge in community services, usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. As workers they may also have responsibility for supervision of other workers and volunteers, case management, program coordination or the development of new business opportunities in the sector.
Students will need to complete at least 100 hours of work placement to consolidate skills taught in the classroom.
On successful completion students may also apply for credit transfers to a range of universities.
